USFCA has such a gorgeous campus! I absolutely love the background, the Baroque Revival style church, and all those beautiful buildings. I recently got to help Grecia, a smart, stunning law grad, take her graduation photos here. The moment I saw her, I thought, “She could totally star in Legally Blonde!” During our session, we also snapped a few couple shots with her husband, John. They just got married! So sweet!
Here are some of my favorite locations around USFCA for grad photos, along with a few little tips and notes for each spot. Whether you’re a photographer or a grad, I hope this guide helps you plan your session and capture some amazing memories at the University of San Francisco!
1. St. Ignatius Church
One of the most stunning spots on campus! I LOVE grand Baroque-style architecture, twin towers, and soft cream tones. It’s one of my favorite places to photograph at the University of San Francisco! I spent the longest time here :)
Keep in mind that this spot can get pretty busy during grad season! I recommend coming on a weekend, instead of a school day or the commencement.

2. Los Lobos de Loyola
“Los Lobos de Loyola” statues were created by Mexican artist Pancho Cardenas in 2011 and are part of a family of similar sculptures at Jesuit schools. The Loyola family crest shows two wolves beside a kettle. In Spanish, lobo (wolf) + olla (kettle) = Loyola. Legend says the family fed their soldiers so generously that even the wolves could always find a feast!
This spot is full of energy and school spirit. It can get busy, so if it’s available, I’ll prioritize shooting here first. Perfect for playful poses, cap-and-gown shots, or photos with friends! Look at Grecia, her pretty eyes and presence are as resolute and brave as the pack itself!

3. Flowering Shrubs
Spring is the perfect time to catch the flowering shrubs in bloom, with gorgeous pinks and reds that pop in photos. May in San Francisco can still be windy and chilly.

4. Street View
San Francisco streets are a mix of classic charm and modern vibes. The wind and city backdrop can add a really cool, storytelling feel to your grad photos.
Make sure to take photos at this street corner during golden hour!

5. USF Lone Mountain
Lone Mountain is such a dreamy spot for grad photos! It sits right at the top of the hill and has the best views of campus. On a clear day, you can even see the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, and Farallon Islands. Honestly, it still surprises me that this place is a dorm. It’s so beautiful.
Again, it gets windy up here! So be ready to tame your hair and maybe bring a cozy jacket to keep warm between shots.

6. USF School of Law (or Your Own Major Building)
We hung out around the Law School by the logo, inside the beautiful library that’s just for USF law students, and of course, the adorable “Case Closed” backdrop the department set up for grads! It’s such a fun way to celebrate your own journey and major.
Whether it’s the Law School, Harney Science Center, Nursing School Cowell Hall, or wherever you spent the most time studying, taking a few photos there makes everything feel extra personal and meaningful.

Last but not least! The following is my favorite photo! (◍•ᴗ•◍)
They are just the sweetest couple. I can’t help but smile every time I look at this shot. The joy, the love, and that little kiss in the middle of the nighty SF street… it’s literally a perfect photo! Huge congratulations on your graduation, Mrs. Attorney!
If you’re getting ready to graduate and want to celebrate this huge milestone, I’d love to capture it for you! Whether it’s at USF, another beautiful campus, or somewhere that feels special to you, let’s create photos that truly reflect your personality and story!
